Women in Uganda
The women I interacted with in the villages had a large responsibility in their communities. Despite their influential role, it was clear that they were marginalized members of society. Lacking adequate representation in their government, girls and women are also less likely to be educated, possess autonomy in decisions regarding health care, and participate in the formal economy.
